We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Clerk to join our team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations. The ideal candidate should have excellent numerical skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
Process payroll for employees accurately and on time.
Maintain payroll records, including employee timesheets, pay rates, deductions, and benefits.
Verify employee work hours and calculate wages based on hours worked and applicable deductions.
Handle payroll adjustments, including overtime, bonuses, and leave balances.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws.
Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries.
Prepare payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.
Assist with tax filings, benefits deductions, and year-end payroll reporting (e.g., W-2, 1099).
Coordinate with HR and Finance teams to update employee records and ensure payroll accuracy.
Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll records and sensitive employee information.
Requirements & Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred).
Previous experience in payroll processing or a related accounting role is preferred.
Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, Paychex) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and wage laws is a plus.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
PAY DOE $28.00 to $30.00
